Zalgiris takes first victory at “Istanbul Cup” (VIDEO) 0

Zalgiris Kaunas men didn’t wait long to show that they can play basketball. After tough loss on the first day of “Istanbul Cup” they came back to beat Erdemir team on Wednesday. Zalgiris led most of the game and with bigger margin, but in the end scoreboard showed 72:66 victory for Lithuanian side.

Kaunas’ team started the game with 8:0 run after 6 points from Travis Watson. Erdemir got close in the end of first quarter (13:14) and managed to lead by 2 points in the middle of the second, but Zalgiris pushed it just before the half for 38:31 lead.

Then Martynas Pocius and Marcus Brown heated up. The score from 55:47 after 30 minutes grew to 68:52 with 5 minutes to go and it got clear who the winner was. Erdemir only managed to cut 10 points by using pressure all over the court, but couldn’t overtake Zalgiris.
