Marcus Brown was firing all cylinders as Zalgiris celebrated an 82:69 victory against Azovmash in the VTB League game, played in Kaunas on Wednesday.

Brown hit 7-of-11 three pointers to put his overall tally to a season-high 37 points. Travis Watson had a massive double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds, Tadas Klimavicius also scored 13, adding 8 boards. Hasan Rizvic had 16 for the losing side, Eric Daniels contributed with 15 and former Lietuvos Rytas player Frederick House netted in 11 points.

Zalgiris managed to pull away in the second quarter, but after Daniels hit a two-pointer, Azovmash cut the deficit to 2 points – 32:34. The duo of Brown and Watson answered with a run of their own scoring 7 straight points to bring Zalgiris’ lead to 41:32 at the end of the first half.

Only 4 players had put their names on the score sheet for Zalgiris at the half-time interval as Brown, at the same time, had already collected 21.

Azovmash was trailing by the same 9 points in the middle of the fourth and an incredible performance from the veteran American guard Brown put no doubts on whether Zalgiris would hold on to the lead.

Rolandas Jarutis of Azovmash lost two teeth after crashing in a well-set screen by Watson. The Lithuanian did not leave the court after the incident and continued playing.
