Another NIJT victory for Zalgiris 0
Zalgiris Kaunas has been well-represented by its youth in the Euroleague Nike Junior Tournament, where the Lithuanian youngsters took a second victory in the tournament blowing out Benetton Fribourg 93:52.
Augustinas Jankaitis had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Zalgiris, Egidijus Mockevicius added 12 points and 7 boards, Dovydas Redikas scored 11, as Tauras Jogela and Edgaras Ulanovas collected 10 each for Zalgiris. Benetton was led by Stefan Petkovic with 18 and Brian Savoius, who scored 15.
The Lithuanians had the lead from the very beginning, as they went on a 15:0 run to start the game. Benetton had managed to get back with the score 18:8. A similiar gap between the teams was kept until the third quarter.
As the Swiss were about to get back into contention, Zalgiris answered rallying 17:0 and could take it easy from then on. The lead continued to grow in the last period, as a big advantage turned into a blow-out.
