The greens defeat Siauliai in a high-scoring game 1
Zalgiris Kaunas won their fifteenth LKL game in a row at Zalgirio arena on Saturday. The defending champions had a solid game offensively and were able to outscore BC Siauliai 98:82 (25:15, 23:21, 26:21, 24:25).
Kaunas players were concentrated since the beginning of the match and Zalgiris was up by 10 after the first quarter (25:15). Brock Motum was the leading scorer of the quarter.
Offensively things were great for Zalgiris in the second period. The greens were creating and making quality shots. However, BC Siauliai were also solid while attacking the basket, therefore Zalgiris could not get any further ahead. The score after two quarters – 48:36.
Edgaras Ulanovas checked in the game for the first time after the halftime, but that did not stop him from getting 15 point in the third period alone. Due to his performance, Zalgiris managed to increase their lead before the final quarter.
Both teams scored with ease in the final period and the situation did not change much – Zalgiris kept a solid lead and won the game 98:82.
Ulanovas led Zalgiris with 19 points. Arturas Milaknis added 14.
Martynas Echodas was the leading scorer for Siauliai, he got 19. Maurice Bowman scored 15.
