Zalgiris defeats Vytautas for a place in Lithuanian Cup final 0

Zalgiris Kaunas has reached the final of the Lithuanian Cup where it will play against Lietkabelis Panevezys at the Zalgirio Arena on Sunday afternoon. Zalgiris topped Vytautas Prienai-Birstonas in the semifinals 76:55.

Brock Motum’s three-pointer sparked a 14:0 second quarter run, capped with an Arturas Milaknis’ triple that made it 38:23 midway through the second quarter. Zalgiris had 46:32 halftime, but continued to increase the margin quickly in the third quarter, and led 68:41 after 30 minutes, easing to victory.

In a balanced effort, Lukas Lekavicius led the victors with 10 points, while Edgaras Ulanovas scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Kevin Pangos also had 9 points and Isaiah Hartenstein contributed with 8.

Former Zalgiris player Vytenis Lipkevicius had 14 points and 9 rebounds in defeat.

In the earlier semifinals, Lietkabelis edged Juventus 75:70 behind five double-digit scorers. Lorenzo Williams had 15 points, Ben Madgen collected 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while Ksistof Lavrinovic and Zygimantas Skucas scored 13 apiece. Vaidas Cepukaitis collected 20 points and 8 rebounds, and Gytis Sirutavicius scored 19 in defeat.
