Zalgiris beats Dzukija on the road 0

Zalgiris Kaunas defeated Dzukija Alytus on Monday. The visitors started off poorly, but got the better of their opponents in the end. Zalgiris won 79:64 (9:21, 32:10, 20:14, 18:19).

Dzukija Alytus got to a great start – they were leading 4:19 at one point in the first quarter. Zalgiris managed to close the gap a bit though, the quarter ended 9:21.

Behind solid performances by Renaldas Seibutis and Lukas Lekavicius Kaunas team turned the game around. Zalgiris players had a very good period and were leading 41:31 before the halftime.

The defending LKL champs would not allow Dzukija back in the game. Alytus team tried their best, but Zalgiris managed to increase their lead. The score was 61:45 after 30 minutes.

The beginning of the fourth quarter belonged to Isaiah Hartenstein. He was quickly able to get some memorable baskets. Dzukija had some short runs, but the game was already decided. During one of the last possesions Robertas Javtokas entertained the crowd with a made three-pointer and Zalgiris got the win – 79:64.

Lekavicius was the leading scorer for Zalgiris with 13 points. Kevin Pangos added 12.

Karolis Guscikas got 15 for Dzukija. Paulius Morkeliunas scored 12.
