Aaron White: “I’m really thankful for Kaunas” 0

We will not be seeing Aaron White in the green-and-white of Zalgiris next season. The 26-year-old athlete will be leaving the club over the summer and taking his highlight dunks abroad. In the exit interview with Zalgiris TV, White talked about his two years in Lithuania and the unforgettable experiences with Zalgiris.

“It’s been awesome. That’s been the number one question after the season – how will you remember your two years here? It’s been great. On the court, basketball-wise, it’s been a lot of fun. But also off the court – my son was born here, my family loves it here. It feel like home and I’m really thankful for Kaunas and the people here.”

The Power Forward registered a similar statistics line as last season – 8.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and an average efficiency of 10 ranking points. The big man liked his fit in coach Jasikevicius’ system.

“I just did what he asked me to in terms of production on the court. To be consistent at this level for two years is difficult to do. I thought I did that pretty well. Overall, basketball-wise it was great. He’s a special coach, he’s really good. He was easy to listen to and you have respect for him knowing that what he’s telling you is going to work on the court.”

Reminiscing about his favorite moment in the two years with the club, White remembered the victory in Zalgirio Arena that paved the way to the EuroLeague Final 4.

“I’ve never been in an arena like that. After we qualified, we were on the court for like 30-40 minutes, just celebrating. The fans were going crazy, the city was going crazy. Once we went downtown, the city was filled with people chanting and celebrating. That was amazing.”
