Zalgiris pre-season schedule set 1

Zalgiris will begin preparations for the season on the 22nd of August and will take part in friendly games in Estonia and Turkey.

The first training camp, that is set to begin on the 22nd of August will have Zalgiris polishing their game in closed friendly games in Kaunas, before moving abroad.

On the 8th of September, the Lithuanian champions will take on Tallinn Kalev/Cramo in the Estonian capital. The team was piloted by Lithuanian coach Donaldas Kairys last season, made its way to the VTB Playoffs and took the national trophy.

Right after that, Zalgiris will travel to Antalya, where they will traditionally take part in a six-team Gloria Cup tournament. Sarunas Jasikevicius’ troops will try to defend their back-to-back trophies in this tournament.

On the 11-15 of September, they will go against the EuroLeague finalist Anadolu Efes Istanbul, another Turkish team Galatasaray Istanbul and one more team from the other group – CSKA Moscow, Tofas Bursa or Teksut Bandirma.

Zalgiris is scheduled to begin their official season on the 22nd of September with a Betsafe-LKL road game against Siauliai, as their EuroLeague campaign will start on the 4th of October in Zalgirio Arena against Baskonia.

Tickets to the EuroLeague and local home games will go on sale at the beginning of September.
