Zach LeDay: “I’m going to give my blood, sweat and tears for the team” 0

On Monday afternoon, Zalgirio Arena received its first rookie of the 2019-2020 season, as American forward Zach LeDay received a guided tour around the four corners of the arena, led by none other than Thomas Walkup.

The 25-year-old took the time to talk to Zalgiris TV about his first impressions and the next chapter of his basketball career in Kaunas.

“For sure, I’m excited to be here and I’m ready to get to work in such a prestigious club and with great coaches and great teammates. Zalgiris plays super hard, is coached really hard. Everybody is serious and plays every moment as the last. I wanted to be a part of that.”

The forward made his EuroLeague debut last season, as he joined David Blatt-led Olympiacos and showed grit and energy in the front court. He had his first taste of the Zalgirio Arena atmosphere, too, as the Greek side suffered a defeat in Kaunas, 83-75, as LeDay dropped 15 points.

“It’s definitely the top two loudest arenas I’ve ever been in. I loved it, I loved playing in a loud arena like that, even as a visitor.”

The American forward is ready to give his all in each practice and each game, striving for a victory every time.

“I’m going to work as hard as possible and give my blood, sweat and tears for the team. I’ll be myself and just show up and be the last to leave. I’ll do everything and give my all. I feel like I’m going to grow some more here – working on the skills, playing hard, giving my all on every play. It’s a constant fight, you’ve got to be an energy player to play at such a high player. They can expect us to give our all, to go do whatever it takes to win.”
