#TimeOutZalgiris talks to Juste Jocyte, as Vidas Bareikis puts his basketball skills on display 0

The roof of Zalgirio Arena was jumping up and down, as the packed-to-the-brim stands helped Zalgiris secure their second consecutive victory in the EuroLeague, defeating ASVEL Villeurbanne.

Zalgiris TV’s very own Dalia Belickaite was all around the arena, as she talked to some very noticeable Lithuanian faces in #TimeOutZalgiris.

Belickaite met up with 13-year-old basketball phenomenon Juste Jocyte, who guided the Lithuanian U16 national team to a silver medal in the European Championship. The starlet visited France a little while ago, where she met up with NBA superstar Tony Parker.

“Everything was really nice, when I met him, I couldn’t believe it myself. We talked for an hour or so. It was really amazing and my hands were shaking. I always liked Lukas Lekavicius. And a year ago, I fell in love with Marine Johannes’s game, I had a practice with them.”

During the half-time break, singer, actor and director Vidas Bareikis put up a spectacular performance. He used to play basketball himself, but late in his school years decided to focus on arts.

“When I was a teenager, when I played basketball myself, the team and players of my heart were Jasikevicius, Siskauskas, Macijauskas. Those were the circumstances that they played on one team. And that was Rytas. But I was a fan of Ennis Whatley, Franjo Arapovic, Tyus Edney, all of them.”

Vidas visited his first Zalgiris game in Zalgirio Arena last year and still can’t forget the incredible atmosphere of that day.

“To be honest, it was very recently. It was last year and it was in a very symbolic moment. During that unstoppable win streak. My friend invited me, and said we need more. It was fantastic. Today and back then I was thinking of Roman times and the gladiator battles. It’s the biggest show in Lithuania. It’s the best sports event, but also the best show-wise.”
