Edgaras Ulanovas makes a move to Istanbul 0

Long-term Zalgiris forward Edgaras Ulanovas will be playing abroad for the first time in his career. After the end of the contract with the Lithuanian champions, the 28 year-old from Kaunas signed a deal taking him to Istanbul to play for Fenerbahce.

“Edgaras decided to try his hand playing abroad, so all we can do is wish him luck. We thank him for the years in Zalgiris, and all the sweat that’s been put in aiming for common goals,” – said Zalgiris director Paulius Motiejunas.

Ulanovas was loaned out to various Lithuanian teams at the start of his professional career – Baltai, Pieno zvaigzdes, Lietkabelis and Neptunas.

He found a role on Zalgiris’ main team in 2014, and became six-time Lithuanian league champion and two-time Finals MVP. Ulanovas also won the King Mindaugas Cup three times, being named MVP each of them.

During the 2019-2020 season, the forward averaged 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 25 minutes of action in the EuroLeague.

His stats were similar in the Lithuanian basketball league – 18 minutes on the floor, 9.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
