Zalgiris wins friendly game by 36 points 0

Zalgiris Kaunas arrived to Malaga region for a week-long practice camp, and began it with a 90-54 victory in the friendly game against local Baloncesto Melilla side.

Spanish team was in front in the first minutes, but Rolands Smits and Karolis Lukosiunas kept Zalgiris close (5-7, 8-10). Kevarrius Hayes and Laurynas Birutis scored 4 points each to put Kaunas team in front 23-18 at the end of the first quarter.

Hayes dominated in the second quarter with a big dunk and 2+1 possession, Mantas Kalnietis and Tomas Dimsa also scored for 41-30 halftime lead.

The second half was a formality, as Zalgiris pulled away 65-37 already in the third quarter. Youngster Liutauras Lelevicius started the last period with a dunk and a three, and Zalgiris cruised to 90-54 victory.

Hayes led the scorers with 14 points, while Birutis, Lelevicius and Smits scored 9 points each.
