Zalgiris triumphs in record fashion over Rytas 1

Zalgiris Kaunas established themselves at the top of the Betsafe-LKL standings with a dominating win over Rytas Vilnius. The green-and-whites got off to a good start and took down Rytas 92-45 in Zalgirio Arena.

A 47-point win marks Zalgiris’ largest victory margin against their long-time rivals.

Zalgiris did not register Joffrey Lauvergne, while Augustine Rubit stayed on the bench for the entire 40 minutes.

A great start to the game from Lukas Lekavicius had Zalgiris ahead by double-digits already after the first quarter.

The margin kept growing until the final buzzer, as the Kaunas side took the lead to nearly half a century.

Lekavicius led the game in scoring with 17 points, as Marius Grigonis added 14. Rokas Jokubaitis contributed 11 points and 6 assists, as Marek Blazevic ended the game with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks.
