Zalgiris brushes aside Prienai 2

Zalgiris continued its Betsafe-LKL marathon with another victory, as they downed CBet Prienai 90-62 on Friday evening in Zalgirio Arena.

The victory moves Zalgiris to a 23-3 record in the Lithuanian league, which has them at the first spot.

The green-and-whites came out firing and managed to set themselves up with a double-digit advantage already in the first quarter, going up 25-14 and holding on to that spread until the break.

While the visitors managed to close close the gap to 6 in the third quarter, quick-fire return from Marius Grigonis, Rokas Jokubaitis and Paulius Jankunas pushed the lead back to 11.

Lukas Lekavicius caught fire at the start of the fourth quarter, dropping 9 points. The green-and-whites continued pushing the gas pedal and raced off to a blow-out victory.

Rokas Jokubaitis led the way for Zalgiris with 17 points, while his backcourt companion Lukas Lekavicius added 16. Marius Grigonis finished up with 13, while Thomas Walkup had a do-it-all statline of 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals. Martinas Geben ended the night with 9 points and 5 rebounds.
