Zalgiris races off to a big home win against Nevezis-Optibet 1

It was a no-contest from the early stages of the game for Zalgiris, as they had no trouble getting past Nevezis-Optibet, taking a 99-66 win in Zalgirio Arena. This marked Zalgiris’ 30th win of the season and improved the record to a league-best 30-3.

The green-and-whites floored the gas pedal from the get-go, as they raced off to a double-digit lead right in the first quarter, going up 30-18 after the opening 10 minutes.

Augustine Rubit opened the quarter with 6 consecutive points, as they lead continued growing. With 27 points separating the two sides before the final segment of the game, it was clear the closing 10 minutes would be merely a formality, with which Zalgiris dealt comfortably.

Zalgiris was led by the big man duo of Nigel Hayes and Augustine Rubit, who had 15 and 14 points, respectively. Joffrey Lauvergne was close to a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds, while Arturas Milaknis and Martinas Geben finished up with 9 each. Marek Blazevic and Steve Vasturia dropped 8 apiece, while Lukas Lekavicius (7 points, 6 assists) and Rokas Jokubaitis (6 points, 8 assists) provided the lion’s share of dime dropping.
