Changes carried out in Zalgiris’ coaching staff 0

There will be a change of personnel in Zalgiris’ coaching staff, as assistant coaches Arne Woltmann and Stefan Grassegger have left the team on mutual agreement. As a replacement for them, the green-and-whites will bring back Evaldas Berzininkaitis for another run with the team.

Berzininkaitis worked in Zalgiris between 2013 and 2021 before joining Jonava CBet this summer. The 37-year-old specialist will work alongside head coach Jure Zdovc and assistant Tautvydas Sabonis.

“First and foremost, we’d like to sincerely thank Arne and Stefan for their work, professionalism and the time spent working for team results. However, with changes happening in the head coaching ranks, it was decided to make some adjustments among the assistants as well. Coach Zdovc had no requirements to have a foreign assistant and Evaldas Berzininkaitis knows our system well, has analyzed opponents both in the EuroLeague and the national championship, so his transition back to the team should be seamless,” – noted Zalgiris director Paulius Motiejunas.

Berzininkaitis spent the recent days in the Lithuanian national team, as it started their run in the FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers.
