While a double EuroLeague week was in the schedule for Zalgiris, with both games on the road, due to the weather conditions in Athens, Wednesday’s game against Panathinaikos has been postponed once more.

The planned Round 18 game against the Greek powerhouse was supposed to be the first destination for the green-and-whites, as they were scheduled to head straight to Milan, where they face AX Armani Exchange on Friday.

However, plans will have to change, as the weather conditions and torrents of snow in Athens have halted life in the city.

During practice in Zalgirio Arena an Tuesday, Zalgiris found out from the opponents that the Greek government has banned any events in Athens for the next two days due to safety precautions.

Later the information about the postponement was confirmed by the EuroLeague.

The game was originally set to take place on the 30th of December but due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the opponents’ camp, the game was moved back to January 26th. EuroLeague will inform of a new date as soon as both clubs agree to it.

Zalgiris will remain in Kaunas and is looking to fly to Milan on Thursday.
