Zalgiris Kaunas finished fifth in the regular season for the first time in the club’s history, earning a quarterfinal matchup worthy of a movie script against Fenerbahce Istanbul.
As the playoffs approach, Zalgiris TV invites fans to relive the final regular-season game against Paris Basketball and see the never-before-seen footage from the team’s locker room, featuring thoughts from Sylvain Francisco, Moses Wright and other Zalgiris players ahead of the upcoming series.

“I thought I was going to miss this moment. That the team would make the playoffs, but I wouldn’t be part of it. That was the biggest sadness for me at the time. Looking back, you hoped for the best-case scenario, and now it’s reality – and I contributed to it. It honestly feels amazing“, – recalled Arnas Butkevicius while reflecting on his foot injury.
After the game against Paris Basketball, Arvydas Sabonis visited the Zalgiris locker room.
Later, Francisco met with Zalgiris GM Gediminas Navickas, who reflected on their journey together.
“We are really proud of you. I promised you we would be contenders – and that’s exactly where we are right now. I’m very happy for you. The entire club and you are moving in the same direction. This is the best regular season in Zalgiris history. I don’t believe the world is perfect, but our partnership is very close to perfection – and I truly appreciate it”, – said Navickas.
