Zalgiris decided to part ways with head coach Ramunas Butautas and sporting director Algirdas Brazys. The club’s board asked the two staff members to resign themselves because of the bad stretch of games, which included losses to such minnow sides as Ventspils and Perlas Vilnius.

The resignation was immediately approved and Darius Maskoliunas and Gvidonas Markevicius were already in charge of the evening practice before a Euroleague clash with Unicaja Malaga later on this week.

Butautas spent only one and a half month in the club while Brazys spent just over two months in Zalgiris.

Travis Watson, who missed a fair amount of games due to injury should already join his teammates on the flight to Spain, which is planned on Tuesday.
