The holiday season became quite a bit more exciting for the participants of the Zalgiris’ One Team social responsibility program.
Zalgiris Kaunas joined the One Team EuroLeague social responsibility program back in 2013. Since then, the club has worked with teenagers from a disadvantaged social background and troubled youngsters. This year, Zalgiris partnered up with Special Olympics for their One Team action, as we look to work with people with intellectual disabilities. In 2017, Zalgiris claimed the EuroLeague One Team award for the running best practice of the project, and followed it up with a bronze award in 2018. For the fourth year running, the socially responsible company Ramirent is partnering up and helping Zalgiris bring out the best of the One Team projects, and starting 2020, the program is mutually financed by the Sports support fund, which is administrated the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports, the Education exchange support fund and the Central project management agency. Their contributions allows us to bring a wide variety of activities and exercises to the participants of the project.
