Marcus Brown scored 16 of his 25 point in the fourth quarter and overtime to save Zalgiris from an embarrassing home defeat to Valmiera. The side from Kaunas edged the Latvian club 84:81 (17:26, 20:15, 14:15, 20:15. 13:10) after overtime on Saturday.

Marcus Brown scored 25 points (5/5 2PT, 1/7 3PT, 12/12 FT), Mirza Begic had a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds as Mario Delas was the last to finish the game in double-figures at 13 points and also 8 boards.

Valmiera’s Daviin Davis scored 21 and added 7 rebounds, Blaz Cesnar collected 17 as Jurijs Andzejevskis had 14.

After trailing for most of the game, Zalgiris took the lead with just over a minute remaining in the last quarter, as Brown scored 4 points in arrow – 71:68.

However, Janis Kaufmanis scored from long-range with half a minute remaining to tie the game at 71:71 and send it to overtime. Brown and Daviin Davis exchanged bad shots and neither could finish the game in regulation.

Valmiera had a lead early in the first quarter (74:71, 76:74), but Brown took over once again. He netted two free-throws, made a steal and finished the game off.

Travis Watson and Dainius Salenga weren’t register for the game while Mantas Kalnietis and Tadas Klimavicius didn’t appear on the court.
