Zalgiris fights off Rudupis’ third quarter surge, takes victory 0
Zalgiris inscribed its fifteenth Lithuanian League (LKL) victory on Saturday. The club from Kaunas managed to overcome a challenge from Rudupis Prienai and ran away with the 84:75 (20:17, 23:18, 22:30, 19:10) victory in the fourth quarter.
Tadas Klimavicius had a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds for Zalgiris, Mantas Kalnietis scored 13, Martynas Pocius netted 12 as Aleksandar Capin finished with 11.
Rudupis’ Gintautas Vileita scored 20, Valdas Dabkus and Evaldas Dainys both added 14 while Gytis Andrijauskas ended the game with 11.
Zalgiris was up 46:35, but a 13-point quarter from Ginatautas Vileita helped his team to get back into the race for victory – 65:65 after three.
With the last period half way through, the hosts led only 76:74, but Tadas Klimavicius scored six points in a row to make the gap 82:74 with a minute left on the clock.
