FK Kauno Zalgiris, currently leading the Lithuanian championship, have strengthened their squad with another new signing. The green and whites have signed a contract with 26-year-old Leon Krekovic.
The attacking player arrives after spending last season in the top division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he represented Posušje.
In 27 appearances last season, Kreković scored five goals and provided one assist.
A former Croatia youth international, Kreković came through the academies of Dinara Knin and Hajduk Split. During his time with Hajduk, he also made appearances for the club's first team.
In his native Croatia, Kreković also played for Dugopolje and Šibenik. During his career abroad, he has already gained experience in several European countries.
In Belgium, he played for Beerschot, represented Lahti in Finland, and, before moving to Bosnia and Herzegovina, featured for Kotwica in Poland.
At Kauno Zalgiris, Kreković will wear the No. 9 shirt. He will travel with the team to Kosovo but will not yet be eligible to play there.
