As FK Kauno Zalgiris prepare for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie in Kosovo, the Lithuanian champions have added a new signing. The club has reached an agreement with Ivan Fiolić.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder arrives in Lithuania from Croatian top-flight side HNK Gorica.

A former Croatian youth international, Fiolić is a product of the Dinamo Zagreb academy. During his time with the club, he won the Croatian league title several times and also lifted the Croatian cup twice.

In his homeland, the midfielder has also represented Lokomotiva Zagreb and NK Osijek, while his career has taken him to several well-known clubs across Europe.

Fiolić began his career abroad with Belgian giants Genk before moving to Cyprus to join AEK Larnaca. He then spent a year and a half with Polish club Cracovia, followed by a six-month spell with Chinese Super League side Tianjin Jinmen Tiger.

With Genk, he also won the Belgian league title, while at Cracovia he lifted both the Polish Cup and the Polish Super Cup.

Having also gained experience in the group stages of UEFA competitions, Fiolić will wear the No. 17 shirt for Kauno Zalgiris. He will travel with the team to Kosovo, although he will not yet be eligible to play against Drita.
