Kauno Žalgiris football club signed a second player during the summer transfer window.

After reaching the agreement with the captain of the Lithuanian national team, Fedor Černych, now club signed 29-year-old Jonathan Tamimi.

The Swedish-born right-back has previously represented Sweden's youth team before choosing to represent Jordan. He has played 5 matches for national team.

"He is a player about whom we have gathered a lot of good feedback. One of the priorities is that our new player are constantly playing and can immediately help the team, and Jonathan is exactly like that. He can play both on the left and on the right and has accumulated a lot of experience in the championship at a good level", – assistant coach of the team Eivinas Černiauskas told Žalgiris.lt about the new player of the team.

Until now, J.Tamimi has played almost his entire career in his native Sweden, and he came to Kaunas after becoming the champion of Jordan with the Al Hussein club.

While representing Jönköping Södra, Sundsval GIF, Mjelbiu AIF and Degerfos IF in Sweden he has played 123 games in the strongest league of the country, scoring a goal and making 12 assists.

Another 83 games, 2 goals and 5 assists in his statistics are in the second Swedish league, where he had to wear the jersey of Stockholm Hammarby, Brage and Jonköping Södra. J. Tamimi became the winner of this league twice.
