Zalgiris Kaunas basketball players underwent physical testing on Tuesday to help the coaching staff gather all the essential information about the players’ physical condition before the start of the season.

After the tests, the team’s players and biomechanics specialist Donatas Daublys shared their thoughts.

Zalgiris captain Edgaras Ulanovas revealed that he already misses basketball.

“I enjoyed the summer, I managed to rest, but now I’m starting to miss my teammates and the training process. I think I spent my time wisely, so now all that’s left is to prepare properly for the season,” said Zalgiris captain.

Ulanovas actively supported the Kaunas Zalgiris football players during the summer.

“I had the opportunity to go to Bulgaria with the football team and be on the other side of the barricade, just like the fans who fly with us to EuroLeague away games,” said the forward about his summer adventures.

The captain said that he had already started getting to know the new team members and was happy with the new head coach.

“First of all, it’s great that a coach who has played as a player, worked as an assistant, and coached the reserves has been given this opportunity. Everyone is happy for Tomas Masiulis, everyone is intrigued and ready to work with him. Of course, excitement is one thing, but we also understand that we will have to work hard, but we are ready to help each other,” Ulanovas said confidently about the team spirit.

Meanwhile, Nigel Williams-Goss talked about his injury, which he recovered from over the summer, and his first impressions upon arriving in Kaunas.

“I worked hard. At the beginning of the summer, I was recovering from an injury I had at the end of last season, so I gradually increased my workload, and now I feel great. As for the new teammates I’ve already met, they’re all very friendly, so I can’t wait to see the rest of the guys,” said the foreign player.

Biomechanics specialist Daublys, who conducted the tests, talked about the tests and gave a positive assessment of the players’ physical condition.

“So far, everything is very encouraging - the Lithuanians are very well prepared. Some may need a little more work, but now we know where to focus and what to work on,” said Daublys.
