FK Kauno Zalgiris arrived in Kosovo's capital, Pristina, on Monday, where they will face the country's champions, Drita, on Tuesday evening in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
On the eve of the match, the Kaunas side held a training session at Fadil Vokrri Stadium, after which Kauno Zalgiris winger Leo Ribeiro shared his thoughts.
"We're ready. This is a very important match for us. The pitch is good, the weather is good, so everything is set for a good game. We have to fight," the Brazilian told Zalgiris.lt.
The attacking player admitted that the first leg in Kaunas gave the team a clear idea of the level of opposition they are facing, but said it has not affected their confidence.
"They're a good team. They're really strong and they know how to play. As the coach said, we've prepared well and we'll try to find their gaps. I believe we have a good chance of progressing," he said.
At Darius and Girenas Stadium, Kauno Zalgiris took the lead through Amine Benchaib, but then ceded some of the initiative to the visitors and conceded a late equaliser.
"After we scored, we dropped back a little. I think that's normal, especially since they came here to play as well. Now we have no choice – we have to play the same way for the full 90 minutes. In this match they won't sit back; they'll want to win. That could work in our favour because they'll attack more, which should leave us with space to exploit," Ribeiro said ahead of the return leg.
The match between Kauno Zalgiris and Drita in Kosovo will kick off at 9:00 p.m. Lithuanian time.
