Zalgiris couldn’t start off their Top 16 in Euroleague with a win, slumping to a 59-73 (21-20, 10-19, 19-15, 9-19) road defeat to Power Electronics Valencia. Turnovers proved to be very costly to the Lithuanians as they put themselves in a difficult situation having committed ten more, than their opponents.

There were no players in double-digits for Zalgiris and Martynas Pocius was the team’s top-scorer with 9 in his account. Travis Watson and Paulius Jankunas scored 8 each while DeJuan Collins ended the game with 7 points and 7 rebounds for Zalgiris.

Only Collins had a double-digit index rating having collected 15, while three Zalgiris players went over the other side of the zero – Mantas Kalnietis had -1, Marcus Brown collected -2 while Boban Marjanovic had -5.

Dusko Savanovic led Valencia with 20 points while Victor Claver chipped in with 14. Rafa Martinez and Sergei Lishchuk added 9 each with the latter collecting 12 rebounds as well.
