#TimeOutZalgiris goes full-swing in the Media Day 0

Zalgiris players and coaches turned into photo models on Thursday in Zalgirio Arena. As every year, the green-and-whites took part in the LKL media day, sharing a laugh and giving out interviews.

Zalgiris TV’s Dalia Belickaite was roaming about and talked about the players’ weirdest interview experiences, advertising shoots and a fun poll about Saras and Robertas Javtokas in #TimeOutZalgiris’ first episode of the 2019-2020 season.

Jock Landale, although hoping not to have an untimely death, remembered his pre-draft interviews

“They ask you all these weird questions in the NBA pre-draft workouts. One of them was “if I was to die, how would I want to die?”. I was like, honestly I don’t really want to die right now, but… we’ll see. I’ve heard a bunch of weird answers.”

Asked about the funniest or weirdest interview, the team captain Paulius Jankunas didn’t need to think twice. The veteran revealed that interviews with the legendary Vidas Maciulis are always something else.

“Probably both the weirdest and the funniest ones are with Vidas Maciulis… When he’s taking the interview, there is no questions at all. He gives his monologue, then I try to say something in between.”

Belickaite also asked around about the players’ social media ways and whether they go looking for their own photos after games.

Lukas Lekavicius admitted that it takes something else for him to go looking for his own photos.

“Definitely not. I want to forget about it, so I close the internet, just try to rest. Unless it was a REALLY good game… or if I need to post something on Instagram, I sometimes do.”

Quite a few Zalgiris players have taken up roles acting in commercials. Just this offseason Edgaras Ulanovas and Marius Grigonis could be seen in a chips commercial, while captain Paulius Jankunas admitted the most special one was Vilkyskiu Milk Factory one.

“We walked around the meadows with cows all day, posing for photos and videos. I brought a cow back home…”

Dalia later gave the players a choice to make on what they’d rather advertise – shampoo or underwear. While most of the players said they’d rather take on the shampoo commercial, Jock Landale was quick to respond otherwise.

“Underwear for sure. I’m a specimen. I’m just a specimen.”

To end the show, the players had to choose which of the former players looked better in a commercial – Robertas Javtokas or Sarunas Jasikevicius. Both of the half-naked men really surprised Thomas Walkup.

“Oh man… It was a tie, but then Robbie’s shark tattoo won it over, for sure. I’ve never seen those before! Those should be framed in our locker room.”
