Zalgiris Kaunas has parted ways with forward Alen Smailagic. The 24-year-old big man has exercised a termination clause in his contract and is leaving the team after paying a buy-out.
The 208 cm tall Serbian will continue to play in the EuroLeague. Smailagic moves to Virtus Bologna, where he has signed a 2-year contract.
In the last EuroLeague season, Smailagic averaged 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 7.8 assists in 15 minutes for Zalgiris.
In the Betsafe-LKL Championship, he averaged 10.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 11.2 assists in 17.5 minutes.
