Deividas Sirvydis will continue to play for Zalgiris Kaunas. The 24-year-old has signed a new 2+1 contract with the club, which will run until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
The 204 cm tall guard, who made his debut in Zalgiris and the EuroLeague this season, shared his excitement with Zalgiris TV.
“Emotions are really good. From the very first day I arrived at Zalgirio Arena, I have been surrounded by good coaches, good staff, and the contract extension adds even more confidence. My first year in the EuroLeague hasn’t been too difficult in terms of fitting in. I think next year should be even better, with an even better development perspective. Being in the same team for the second year, you already have a better feel for the system and the players, which is why I wanted to stay, put down roots and continue to enjoy basketball,” said Sirvydis.
In his debut EuroLeague season, Sirvydis averaged 8.4 points and 2.6 rebounds, shooting 51.5% from two-point range and 38.8% from three-point range.
“We are happy that Sirvydis is staying in Zalgiris Kaunas. He had an exit option this summer, which we eliminated with the new contract. We want continuity and we see his potential. Many people forget that this is Deividas’ first season in the EuroLeague and he has already proven that he can become a strong player in a competitive team, so we wanted to keep him in Kaunas”, - said Zalgiris Kaunas GM Gediminas Navickas.
