On Tuesday evening, Zalgiris won their fifth EuroLeague victory of the season, defeating Virtus Bologna at home, 86-65.
Sylvain Francisco made his mark in the loud Zalgirio Arena and shared his thoughts immediately after the game.
“Our main target was Carsen Edwards, whom I know very well. We had to stop him and the other guys and turn our good defense into a solid offense, and today we succeeded,” the Zalgiris player described the game.
Francisco also talked about what prevented the opponents from fully returning to the game.
“We were getting our rhythm back. When we were ahead, especially in the second half, we started playing sluggishly, making mistakes, and giving up easy points on defense. However, in the second half, we solved these issues, played more solidly, and didn't make as many mistakes,” said the Frenchman.
The Zalgiris player also talked about wanting to create opportunities for other players on the court.
“I am a creator, but I feel that in the last three games I didn’t do what I should have and shot too often, so today I wanted to drive to the paint and find my teammates. We talked about this with the coaches: we have to move the ball, drive to the paint, and then we can create good opportunities,” Francisco commented on his play.
