Zalgiris Kaunas will conclude the preseason cycle on September 17 with an extraordinary game in London. The last opponent for Zalgiris before the official start of the season will be the London Lions, coached by Tautvydas Sabonis.

The game, which will start at 9:30 p.m. Lithuanian time, will be broadcast live on the Zalgiris Insider content platform.

The match in the British capital will not only be a great opportunity to see the Zalgiris players finishing their preparations for the 2025-2026 season, but also the Lions team coached by Sabonis, which is preparing for its return to the European Cup.

There are other Lithuanian accents in the Lions club besides head coach Sabonis - Vytautas Pliauga and Gintaras Krapikas will also be working on the coaching staff, and Martynas Purlys is the team’s sports director. In addition, Justinas Liaudinskas is the commercial director of the organization.

The match will take place at the Lions’ home arena, the Copper Box, where Zalgiris has previously played preseason games. Before the start of the 2017-2018 season, the team, then coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius, with the support of a large crowd of local Lithuanians, defeated Polski Cukier from Toruń, Poland (87-61).
