EuroLeague will return to the Zalgirio Arena this Tuesday, where Zalgiris Kaunas will take on Baskonia Vitoria. Ahead of the upcoming match, Nigel Williams-Goss shared his thoughts on the game.
“We’ve watched a lot of videos, so there are definitely some tactical points we need to focus on. Our energy will also be very important – we’re at our best when we play physically. If we do these things, we’ll have a good chance of bouncing back,” said the guard.
Williams-Goss highlighted the strengths of their upcoming opponents.
“It's important that we get back on defense properly and don't let them get going. On offense, we also have to keep the rhythm, be physical, move the ball around – that’s how a good team plays,” said the Zalgiris player.
Only three EuroLeague teams shoot more three-pointers than the Vitoria club, but Williams-Goss mentioned that Zalgiris has been successful in stopping this weapon of their opponents this season.
“I think the team is handling it well this year and we’re not letting our opponents shoot a lot of three-pointers. In our last game against Real, our opponents only made 9 three-pointers. So, as I said, if we stick to the game plan prepared by the coaches, we can definitely win,” the guard emphasized the importance of defense.
The match between Zalgiris Kaunas and Baskonia Vitoria will begin on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
