Zalgiris Kaunas will try to get back on the winning track in Dubai this Friday, and just before the team’s departure for the largest city in the United Arab Emirates, Dustin Sleva shared his thoughts.
“It’s always difficult to fall asleep after a game like that, but the good news is that we can bounce back on Friday, so we have to forget about yesterday’s game and focus on the upcoming game,” said the American.
The Zalgiris player also emphasized the importance of the team's character.
“We always try to fight for the ball on offense. Of course, it’s much easier to do that when we miss so many shots, but even with a 20-point deficit, we didn’t give up, we fought and tried to make a run,” said Sleva.
When asked about the intense EuroLeague schedule, the forward shared that it helps him recover faster after difficult games.
“I don’t think about it too much as I go out on the court and give it my all. I enjoy it, I enjoy playing basketball, so I’m happy when I don’t have to wait a whole week for the next game. When you play a bad game, the best thing is that you can get back on the court soon and start all over again,” said the Zalgiris player.
Sleva also discussed the upcoming opponents.
“The Dubai club has a lot of talent in every position and a long rotation. The coaches will put together a game plan today and we will try to stop them, because the Dubai Basketball team has a lot of experienced guys,” Sleva pointed out the opponents’ strengths.
The match between Zalgiris and Dubai Basketball will begin this Friday at 6 p.m. Lithuanian time.
