Zalgiris Kaunas won the game against Rytas Vilnius, 90-81. Sylvain Francisco scored 13 points, made 9 assists, and shared his thoughts after the game.
“I think we were very focused, we knew what we had to do. We controlled the game until the very end and played smart, we didn’t give them that many three-pointers, so it’s a great team victory,” said the guard about the highlights of the victory.
It was also the first game out of the last seven in which Rytas did not have a double-digit lead at any point, and Francisco emphasized the importance of playing smart.
“We had to keep up the pace. Even with a 10-point lead, we had to increase our lead, just like in the EuroLeague, because this team, especially when playing at home, can come back from any deficit, so we had to play smart, and today we succeeded,” replied the Zalgiris player.
The Frenchman was also impressed by the support of the Green White Boys and the performance of Azuolas Tubelis.
“To be honest, the Rytas fans weren’t even that loud, and the support from the Green White Boys was incredible; I could hear them more than anyone else. I’m also very happy for Tubelis. Sometimes it’s hard to play against your former team, especially when you’re being booed, but he looked great,” said Francisco.
