Zalgiris defeated Baskonia Vitoria at home on Tuesday evening, 82-67. Sylvain Francisco scored 23 points and dished out 11 assists, and shared his comments after the game.

“I feel great. I think that if we can set the tone like this also in away games, we will win a lot of victories. I am also happy that we were able to keep a team like Baskonia from scoring 70 points,” said the Zalgiris player.

Francisco also revealed what has changed after the halftime.

“I think that when our opponents play more athletically and physically than us, we sometimes can’t keep up, and when we try to respond, it’s too late and we accumulate fouls. But this time, the problem was that we didn’t create anything in offense, so I’m glad that after the break we sorted out not only our defense but also our offense,” replied the Frenchman.

Francisco also spoke about playing in the clutch moments.

“I feel great at moments like these – especially in the fourth quarter, when we need to figure out what to attack and how to play to secure the victory. I also want to include my teammates – I want them to make good shots. The fans also add a lot of energy at moments like this – it helped us get going both in offense and defense, and our opponents couldn’t do anything about it. Everyone on the court did something good, we collected quality rebounds,”  Francisco described the turning point of the game.

Next Thursday, Zalgiris will play another EuroLeague game at home, hosting Maccabi Tel Aviv.
