Zalgiris Kaunas (30-2) had no problem in another Betsafe-LKL game. Andrea Trinchieri’s team defeated Neptunas Klaipeda (11-21) by 84-49 (20-7, 27-8, 22-18, 15-16) at Zalgirio Arena.

Laurynas Birutis scored twice from under the basket, Arnas Butkevicius hit a three-pointer, Isaiah Wong and Dovydas Giedraitis were both accurate from mid-range, and Edgaras Ulanovas added a free throw to make it 12-3. Deividas Sirvydis made a layup, Matt Mitchell added 4 points, and Sylvain Francisco’s finished the first quarter, 20-7.

Zalgiris extended their spurt to 21-0 with a great defensive effort at the beginning of the second period. Sirvydis hit a three-pointer in a fast break, Mitchell scored 7 points in a row, Giedraitis made a three-pointer from the corner and Birutis added a two-pointer, 35-7. Wong converted his free throws and assisted Giedraitis’ three-pointer, Birutis and Mitchell scored a two-pointer each, and Giedraitis made another long-range shot, 47-15.

Bryant Dunston hit the buzzer-beater, Butkevicius was free to shoot a three-pointer from the corner, Wong scored 8 more points, 60-28. Francisco added 3 free throws, Ulanovas scored 4 points and Birutis finished the attack with a dunk, 69-33.

Sirvydis, Dovydas Buika and Wong made layups, 75-37. Sirvydis scored from long range, Mitchell was accurate from mid-range and Mantas Laurencikas added 4 points, 84-49.

Mitchell led the scorers with 15 points. Wong added 14 points and 5 rebounds. Giedraitis and Sirvydis had 11 and 10 points respectively.
