Zalgiris Kaunas returned to winning ways in the EuroLeague with an ultimately comfortable 82-67 home victory against Baskonia Vitoria.

Zalgiris conjured a 20-2 run in the second half to engineer a win over Baskonia although the visitors led for three quarters of the contest, improving to 8-5 while the Spanish side dropped to 4-9.

Baskonia made a flying start and opened up a tangible lead early on, thriving on strong defense to take the first quarter 18-24 although Zalgiris hit back with a pair of late three-pointers.

The visitors held firm in the second and maintained their advantage, keeping the home team to only 1 offensive board.

Zalgiris beefed up its defense after the break and the teams were tied 54-54 at the end of the third quarter, setting up a thrilling home straight.

There was no way back for Baskonia after the hosts hit top gear to carve out a 74-59 advantage midway through the fourth, ultimately coasting to an emphatic victory.

Sylvain Francisco shined with 23 points and 11 assists for Zalgiris, Azuolas Tubelis chipped in with 15 points and 6 boards while Ignas Brazdeikis netted 13 points.
