Zalgiris Kaunas suffered a home loss on Wednesday, falling 61-82 to Anadolu Efes Istanbul at Zalgirio Arena. The team struggled to find its rhythm from the opening tip, allowing the visitors to build an early lead that Zalgiris could never overcome.

The loss came in Pablo Laso’s debut as the head coach for Efes, as his team snapped a three-game losing streak.

For Zalgiris, it was a tough night offensively, with the team unable to find its top gear. Only two players managed to score in double figures: Nigel Williams-Goss led the way with 11 points, and Sylvain Francisco contributed 10.

Zalgiris had no answer for Efes’s offense, which was clicking from the start. The visitors were paced by sharpshooter Cole Swider, who finished with a game-high 18 points. Vincent Poirier added 14 points, Jordan Loyd scored 12, and Nick Weiler-Babb orchestrated their attack with an impressive 13 assists.
