Zalgiris Kaunas (10-1) ended the week with a victory in the LKL championship. Tomas Masiulis’s team defeated Juventus Utena (4-7) by 91-75 (24-21, 22-27, 27-14, 18-13) on the road.

Ignas Brazdeikis and Nigel Williams-Goss started the game with accurate long-range shots, and Laurynas Birutis added a two-pointer, 8-6. Dustin Sleva made two three-pointers, and Moses Wright scored with a foul, 17-16. Then Mantas Rubstavicius hit a three-pointer, while Azuolas Tubelis and Edgaras Ulanovas scored from under the basket, 24-21.

Williams-Goss made assists to Tubelis and Wright, 28-24. Tubelis, Dovydas Giedraitis, Brazdeikis, and Maodo Lo scored two-pointers (36-32), but the hosts took advantage of their long-range artillery and pulled ahead, 37-40. Brazdeikis hit a three-pointer from the corner, Wright made a powerful dunk, Rubstavicius made his free throws, and Tubelis took advantage of Williams-Goss’s assist, 46-48.

Wright opened the third quarter with an accurate shot, Ulanovas tallied 4 points from under the basket, Lo scored from long range, 55-50. Birutis scored 6 points in a row, Sleva hit another three-pointer, 64-56. Birutis made 1 free throw, Rubstavicus added 2, Lo broke through under the basket, and Tubelis ended the quarter with 4 points, 73-62.

Lo made another drive to the basket, Birutis and Wright each scored two free throws, 79-67. Williams-Goss scored 5 points in a row, Brazdeikis hit a three-pointer, and Tubelis and Giedraitis closed the game with accurate two-pointers, 91-75.

Tubelis was the leading scorer with 14 points, Wright had 12 points, while Birutis and Brazdeikis scored 11 points each.
