Zalgiris Kaunas has registered two new players for the Betsafe-LKL Championship. Eighteen-year-old Mantas Laurencikas and seventeen-year-old Ignas Stombergas, who have both played in the youth teams this season, will have the opportunity to make their debut in the main team’s jerseys.
This evening, the Kaunas team will face M Basket-Delamode Mazeikiai at Zalgirio Arena. Zalgiris’ 12-man roster for this game will include youngsters Dovydas Buika, Laurencikas, and Stombergas. Isaiah Wong, who traveled to the USA for a short visit for birth of his daughter, and Deividas Sirvydis, who is ill, will miss the game.
This season, Laurencikas has played 48 games in the 7bet-NKL Championship. The guard, who won bronze with Zalgiris-2, averaged 8.7 points and 3.1 assists in 24 minutes of play.
Stombergas, who celebrated his 17th birthday just a couple of months ago, has spent more time this season with Zalgiris-3 in the Notra.lt-RKL Championship, where he averaged 15.5 points and 8.1 rebounds.
