Two Zalgiris talents will continue their careers in the NCAA 0

At the start of May, one of the brightest stars of the Zalgiris youth system, Motiejus Krivas announced his decision to continue development in the University of Arizona in the NCAA. Two more Zalgiris youngsters decided to follow in his footsteps.

Joining Krivas in Arizona will be rising star Paulius Murauskas, who spent last season on a loan basis in 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys. Meanwhile, Kajus Kublickas will take his talents to Florida, as he sets out to play for the Gators in the University of Florida.

“As in the case of Motiejus, we knew about Paulius’ wish to go to the NCAA. We think it’s a logical step in his career, and we wish him the greatest of luck. We’ll be following his development in USA closely,” – said Head of Zalgiris youth system Gediminas Navickas.

“Kajus is going to a good university. We had conversations with the Gators coaches, as we wanted to make sure how they see the development of Kajus and his abilities. Kajus is up for a challenge, but I believe he’ll manage.

We’re happy that the Zalgiris youth attracts the attention of the top programs in the NCAA. It’s a stamp of approval both to the players, our coaches, and the entire Zalgiris youth program.”

Paulius Murauskas has played his second full season in the LKL, and the 19-year-old put up averages of 6.7 points and 3.2 rebounds for Lietkabelis-7bet.

The youngster also played in the EuroCup, where he had a 4.4 points per game and 2.5 rebounds statline.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Kublickas became champion of the second-tier NKL in Lithuania, and made his debut both in the Betsafe-LKL and the EuroLeague.

The point guard averaged 9.2 points, 3.3 assists and 1.4 rebounds in the NKL. He played two games in the top-tier Lithuanian division, averaging 4.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals.
