Zalgiris has registered two youngster for the Betsafe-LKL 0

The new Betsafe-LKL season starts this weekend, and Zalgiris Kaunas has added two young  players – Dovydas Butkas and Nedas Montvila – to the team’s roster.

Both players will play for Zalgiris-2 in the National Basketball League (NKL) this season, but they will be able to join the men’s team in the Betsafe-LKL by using the double license for young players.

Butka, 20 years old, averaged 9.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in almost 25 minutes last season.

He has also been added to the list of Zalgiris players eligible to play in the EuroLeague.

Montvila, who will celebrate his 21st birthday on Friday, averaged 6.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in almost 20 minutes last season.

The youngsters will travel to Klaipeda on Sunday, where they will be registered for Zalgiris’ season-opening game with Gargzdai.
