Impressions from Zalgiris Coaching Clinic: “This is something I have never experienced before” 0

Zalgiris Kaunas completed the fourth Zalgiris Coaching Clinic training in April.

This time a large delegation of coaches from Israel visited Kaunas to deepen their knowledge and get acquainted with the whole activity of the organization – from Zalgiris Basketball Academy to the main Zalgiris team.

The participants watched live the practice sessions of Zalgiris Basketball Academy, Zalgiris-2, Zalgiris-3 and the main team, listened to various lectures related to Zalgiris organization.

“This year I am very happy that we added a Q&A session with the head coach Andrea Trinchieri. The coaches also watched the main team’s practice sessions live. Another thing we want the coaches to do is to feel the passion for basketball in Lithuania and for Zalgiris when they come to Kaunas,” said Zalgiris General Manager Gediminas Navickas.

Gino Jacob, Director of the Wingate Coaching School of the Israeli Sports Institute, also visited Kaunas.

“This is not my first time in Kaunas, but it’s very good to be here and witness the basketball culture. It seems like everyone is thinking about basketball, learning basketball and understanding it. Your passion for basketball is amazing”, said the specialist.

Raz Inbar, a student of Wingate Coaching School and a basketball coach, who participated in the Zalgiris Coaching Clinic for the first time, was also impressed by the experience in Kaunas.

“In terms of basketball, this is something I have never experienced before. For me as a young coach it is an unreal experience. Everyone here is very open to teaching others, answering all questions. This is one of the best experiences I have ever had”, said the guest from Israel.
