Zalgiris keeps power forward Klimavicius 0

Zalgiris Kaunas announced Thursday that power forward Tadas Klimavicius has re-signed with the team. Klimavicius (204, 26) agreed to a one-year deal with a team option for the 2010-11 season. Klimavicius averaged 3.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in 13 minutes off the bench in 10 Euroleague games last season, his first in Europe’s signature competition after five seasons elsewhere. Those numbers grew to 8.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in the Baltic League and 10.1 points and 6.8 rebounds in the Lithuanian League as Zalgiris reached the finals of both competitions. Klimavicius has also played for Alita Alytus and BC Siauliai in his native Lithuania as well as Fabriano Basket in Italy and AEL Larrisa in Greece during his career.

"I had offers from Greek and Italian clubs, but after considering everything, I decided not to leave Kaunas," Klimavicius revealed. "Playing in the Euroleague, working with familiar trainers and living at home with my family were among the reasons I chose Zalgiris."
