Zalgiris among the Euroleague Devotion Marketing Awards nominees 0

Euroleague Basketball announced the nominees for the fourth edition of the Devotion Marketing Awards. Zalgiris Kaunas, Efes Pilsen and Asseco Prokom are the honored clubs.

The Devotion Marketing Awards recognizes the efforts made by Euroleague and Eurocup clubs to enhance the growth of basketball from a marketing perspective. Many clubs have participated in this edition of the program. As every season, the criteria to select the three nominees have been based on four main pillars: spectators, distribution, product/experience and branding.

Zalgiris Kaunas, Efes Pilsen and Asseco Prokom were chosen for their consistent marketing plans and for the results they achieved during the 2009-10 season. Asseco Prokom did an impressive job by increasing its attendance by an average of more than a 30% after moving from Sopot to Gdynia. Zalgiris Kaunas was an example of how branding Euroleague games provides a unique experience for its fans. Efes Pilsen has offered a strong example of the usage of social media, new technologies and court activities to promote the game.

Which of those three clubs will be awarded with the Gold, Silver and Bronze Devotion Marketing Awards will be unveiled at the 2010-11 Euroleague Basketball Draw on July 8 in Barcelona.

The three nominees for the Devotion Marketing Awards together with the marketing executives of all Euroleague, Eurocup and European teams have been invited to the latest Euroleague Basketball Marketing Summit, to be held in Barcelona from July 8 to 9. The summit is a meeting point for basketball marketing professionals where they can share their experiences and attend to conferences given by prominent executives in the field. This year, the main points that will be addressed and developed at the summit are sponsorship, social media and ticketing sales strategies.
