Zalgiris signs Ty Lawson 0

Zalgiris have shocked the European market once again, as the Lithuanian champions announced the signing of Denver Nuggets starting point guard Ty Lawson. The 23-year-old American player will stay in Kaunas until the end of the lockout.

“We signed a deal until the end of the lockout, despite previously stating that we’d be looking to sign players for the whole season. The situation in the market has changed and the lockout might last longer than expected.

Also, the financial requirements from NBA players with contracts are smaller, while the level is much higher than the European players,” said the General Director of the club Paulius Motiejunas.

Lawson, who averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game last year for the Nuggets, will team up with another NBAer Sonny Weems, who will arrive to Kaunas from the Toronto Raptors.
