Jabeer leaves Zalgiris for personal reasons 0

Just before the vital Euroleague game against Alba Berlin, Zalgiris Kaunas received some upsetting news. The team’s starting point guard, Ibrahim Jaaber, has let the team know, that he will be leaving the team for personal reasons.

In a letter he sent to the club, he motivated the departure with personal gospel.

According to Zalgiris’ sports director Vitoldas Masalskis, “Ibrahim stated, that he does not agree with the advertising on the jerseys. He was also indignant with the dance team in the away match against Lietkabelis Panevezys. Jaaber also let us know, that he will not be returning neither to our team, nor any other European club.”

“I understand, that because of this decision I might never again make money from basketball, but I am ready to make a sacrifice like this for my beliefs,” said Jaaber.
