Ulanovas: “Real is putting up tremendous numbers” 0

Still looking for their first EuroLeague home victory, Zalgiris faces a tough challenge this Friday, as they face last season’s EuroLeague champions, Real Madrid.

Having started off the season on a very high note and powered by an unmatched offensive display, the Spanish side has yet to suffer a defeat. Lead by coach Pablo Laso, the Spanish champions have claimed all four wins in the EuroLeague so far and all six Spanish championship games.

#ZalgirisTV caught up with forward Edgaras Ulanovas to talk about the upcoming matchup.

“Just the fact that they’ve yet to lose a game this season tells you a lot. They’re putting up tremendous numbers on offense.  We remember the painful loss against them at home last year. So I’m sure that everyone on that roster, the whole city of Kaunas wants to set things straight. They want a better game, sort of a rematch. And we want to give these fans the first win in Zalgirio Arena, too.”

Ulanovas also noted some key elements to give the team a fighting chance against the European powerhouse.

“It’s going to take a lot of work, first and foremost. And it will all come down to the little things. We have to maintain concentration and effort throughout the entirety of the game. If we take away their freedom, we might be able to expect a result.”

The whole city excitedly awaits Zalgiris matchup against Real Madrid, as Zalgirio Arena prepares for fully packed stands on the 2nd of November.
